Wowee! A Prize!
Recently my good friend Craig put me in touch with a fella in Melbourne – who runs a blog called GrumpyWookie. Told me we had a lot in common and I should check it out.
I checked out his site, and left a post – and entered a competition on his site to win a book. And we WON with the pepper-pots “Penny Stove” article.
Yay!
Turns out that Chris – in Melbourne is a dad of 3 kids like me. His kids are just a smidge younger than mine.
But he’s an awesome Dad, and is keen to get his kids into the out and about.
How did HE get the book? Read his Escape Into Adventure article to find out.
But the book has been from Damien – somewhere in the USA, to Chris – in Melbourne, to Me – in Brisbane, and I’ve temporarily lent it to Craig – who’s going to Seattle.
Turns out that Damien, Chris and I are all in the IT field. So is Craig!
So Craig got first read of the book.
Here’s the rub though: I need to give the book away to someone else as a “pay it forward” excercise. Prefer that than Re-Gift (cause I did enjoy the book!)
Enjoy!

[...] it the first time. And the second time. You can enter for a chance to win the book A Long Trek Home on the Pepper Pots blog. All you have to do is submit your favorite backpacking recipe. Thanks for keeping it going [...]
One of my favorite things to eat on the trail is hummus and some type of flat bread (like tortillas).
Thanks Jamie, Good to see a start. How do you carry the hummus so it doesn’t spill?
