So, Felicia is studying at the moment. Which means the boys and I must needs go on an adventure – OUT of the house, and take up the entire day.
This requires some forward thinking. So I asked my “adventuring dad”friend Anton.
He told me about a very cool, little known place, which has a SECRET TUNNEL!

May 16th, 2010Weekends – they are the best of times, but they CAN be the worst of times!
Felicia and I had noticed a trend, and it was concerning us.
The trend was that when we got busy on the weekend getting ‘chores’ done – the boys would get bored and loll about, asking for biscuits, lollies, juice, and wanting to watch TV or play computer games.

Fishing and Zombie Cats
May 15th, 2010So this Weekend we had the absolute luxury of a blank Saturday stretching in front of us (After soccer of course!).
I had planned a fun afternoon of restoring window frames, but the boys got an idea – and asked if they could go fishing instead.
So I thought! Why not? No harm here right?

Making a Garden.
November 30th, 2009For a long while now I’ve been thinking of making a garden. The other weekend I had the boys to myself for the whole morning and that was the catalyst to do something about it!
First of all, we started with a plan. Well, a rough plan, kind of in my head.
This transferred to a back of a cocktail napkin kind of plan, and back of an envelope kind of budget to do it.
Off to Bunnings… Read the rest of this entry »
My Sister wrote a book!
August 20th, 2009Wow, I am really proud of ALL my brothers and sisters. I have 3 sisters and one brother. Each is very creative, passionate,
energetic, vocal and a great parent. It makes for a very loud and fun get together!
Rebecca is the closest in age to me. She is a great mother, a teacher, an artist, and now she is an author. Crikey, What next?? She’s amazing. Somehow in the busy time of life she has Written A Book, and had the firepower to Get It Published!
Here’s the cover page and synopsis – if you’re interested: just go here: www.impressionsartstudio.com/blog/ and click the buy now button on the page about her book.
Synopsis: David is a young boy who watches his family breakdown. When his father leaves, he is distraught and blames himself.

Real bedtime stories.
July 27th, 2009Do you have a story when you were a little boy?
My boys beg me for this every night before lights out. Some times I am tired, cranky, and if the boys have been ratty – I just want lights out and “Mummy & Daddy time”.
But something makes me stop, and rack my brains for one more…
One on One Time.
July 14th, 2009One of the fads going around is “The Five Love Languages”. I actually think this is worth a comment.
You can tell by this picture – that one of mine, is Touch.

Inspiration
June 30th, 2009Inspire – means to breathe. Breathe IN. Take a deep breath.
Dads , Where do you draw your inspiration from?
When it’s all going sour? When you drag yourself of bed and feel sick at the beginning of the day? When the day seems to turn worse, the more you put into it? When it’s dark at the start of the day, and dark at the end? When everything you eat tastes foul, and there’s no joy to be found?
When the end of the day means a headache, a messy house and tired, emotional wife, cranky kids?
When it’s the first day of two weeks of school holidays and already the complaint from your wife is
“I don’t know what to do with these kids!?”
So what do you do? Here’s what I do:
Press on.
